Wooden statue for Ghedina

Tomorrow Kristian Ghedian will race down the Saslong as forerunner for the last time. Something special will be awaiting the outgoing Italian from Cortina in the finish area.
Kristian Ghedina has won here on the Saslong four times, last year he finished fourth. Tomorrow Ghedina will definitively say goodbye to the ski sport on the piste he has declared his favourite. As forerunner and equipped with cameras of the ZDF (the German broadcasting corporation) the fun guy from Cortina d’Ampezzo will for the last time conquer the slope under the Saslong mountain. In the finish area the children of the Val Gardena ski club will hand Ghedina a wooden statue, carved by the Gardena Art wood sculpting association.
