“Sulze“ has the best fan club
Apart from the Downhill and Super-G races, there was a third competition here in Val Gardena: The competition of the fan clubs. It was won by Kurt Sulzenbacher’s fan club (South Tyrol/Italy), followed by the “Einschellern” (Switzerland) and Fritz Strobl’s fans (Austria).
Kurt Sulzenbacher’s fans had two reasons to celebrate today. First they could celebrate their hero’s 12th position in today’s Downhill, then they went on to win the prize as best fan club. Having won first prize at the fan club World Cup, the fans are now actually better than their hero. Kurt Sulzenbacher has “only” managed to achieve two podium places in 118 World Cup races.
Kurt Sulzenbacher’s fans received Euro 300 and a big goodie’s basket filled with South Tyrolean specialities. The second and third placed fan clubs were also given a basket full of local specialities.
