Local Visit by FIS
The FIS race management team recently visited the World Cup organizers in St. Christina for the traditional summer meeting. Last year's races were analyzed and at the same time the team looked at what's ahead.
The FIS was represented by Race Directors Markus Waldner and Hannes Trinkl and they expressed their satisfaction with the 2016 races at Saslong: "Val Gardena/Gröden is still one of our best organizers. Last year, the races were once again superb and there are only a few small things that we want to change" said Waldner. President Rainer Senoner and Course Chief Horst Demetz took part in the meeting for the Val Gardena/Gröden Organizing Committee. "We thank the FIS for the support and good cooperation," Senoner stressed.
At the meeting, the track itself, the course setting as well as feedback from racers, coaches and TV stations on the actual races were discussed. Looking at 2017, the access to the Camel Humps will slightly change and the observation tower for the coaches will be increased. At present, improvements are being made on the slope below the Sochers wall for touristic purposes.
