First Team Captains’ Meeting: Softened Course – Training Run in Question

There is more snow than ever but still, the training run on the Saslong in program for Wednesday, December 17th could be cancelled or, at the least, be postponed to a later time in the day. Potential rain and warm temperatures are to blame. The decision will be taken on Wednesday morning by the Race Jury.

FIS Race Director Günter Hujara announced at today’s first Team Captains’ Meeting that a potential start of the training will have to be confirmed by the Race Jury early Wednesday morning as today’s rain and warm temperatures have softened the lower section of the Saslong. For now, the orders are that the course remains closed. The intention is to limit any potential damage to a course that is currently in perfect condition. Furthermore, Mr. Hujara stated that the start of the training run could be postponed from 12:15 pm to 2:00 pm. A final decision will be taken by the Race Jury at 8:30 am tomorrow morning. Inspection is set for 9:30 am.
