First Training Run Confirmed
The first training run on the Saslong will start as planned at 12:15 pm. The temperatures have fallen overnight and the softer snow on the lower section of the course has hardened turning the slope into perfect conditions as of this morning.
FIS Race Director Günter Hujara has convened the Jury this morning at 8:30 am to confirm the conditions of the run after rain and warmer temperatures softened the lower section of the Saslong yesterday. Mr. Hujara had questioned the feasibility of today’s training run during last night’s Team Captain Meeting but the change in temperatures and light snowfall will allow for the training run to start as planned at 12:15 pm.
Race Director Rainer Senoner believes that the slope is in excellent conditions. The volunteers have been working on the course since 5:00 am this morning removing 15 cm of new snow on the upper and 5 cm on the lower sections of the course. Inspection started as planned at 9:30 am.
