100 volunteers scooping snow since 5:00 am this morning

The slope crew caught the early bird on Wednesday morning on the Saslong to help clear the course. About 100 volunteers, with shovels in hand, dug in under the leadership of Course Director Horst Demetz and they succeeded in turning the Saslong into a “fantastic course” according to Race Director Rainer Senoner.

“We met up at 4:30 am and started to shovel at 5:00 am to meet the deadline. And we made it in time” says a visibly proud Mr. Senoner.

“The upper section of the course was covered with 15 cm of snow, the Finish with 5 cm. We were lucky that the rain softened the course” adds Mr. Senoner. The weather forecast for the following days sounds promising. The Organizers around Mr. Senoner can rely on the excellent and professional support of the weather station in Arabba. “The weather forecast bureau in Arabba has been a partner of ours for many years and they have always provided us with reliable data” states Mr. Senoner.
