The race director of the Italian Skiteam: Let’s try!

Italy is going for gold. On the other hand with Werner Heel in top form, dreaming is allowed. Yesterday evening the Italian ski team appeared at a press conference in the exclusive motorhome of Audi-FISI.

Heel will give his all to defend last year’s Super-G title. In yesterday’s 2nd Downhill Training only Didier Cuche from Switzerland was able to beat Werner Heel’s time. Ok, it was only a training run, but Heel will certainly try to repeat his success in today’s Super-G on the Saslong.
Claudio Ravetto the Italian race director is hoping for positive signs before the Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010. “Of course the Olympics are our main goal this season. Every other race is seen as prepartion for this big event. So far I am very happy with my team. They are getting stronger and stronger and now I am expecting some good results also in the races held here in Italy. Last year we were also a bit lucky to win. This year we will try to repeat our success. Werner was very good in training yesterday, now he will have to try and repeat his performance in today’s race.” Christof Innerhofer who was 25 only yesterday, is another one to watch. “I worked hard, but so far I have always missed the podium positions I have been hoping for. But slowly, slowly I am getting physically stronger. The first part of the season didn’t go very well, but there is still enough time to recuperate.”
