Sarone wins 2010 Fan Club Prize
Italian’s might not have been able to shine on the race course this past weekend here at the World Cup in Gardena-Gröden placing far from the podium. So it was left to the fans to keep the Italian flag flying high with the Sarone Fan Club, a group supporting all Italian athletes, capturing the 2010 Fan Club Prize.
A fan club always supports its idols and faithfully sticks to the competition calendar. Which is why the Sarone team could not have missed today’s Downhill bringing their heart-felt support to Heel & Co. The very folkloristic group convinced the jury during the parade and while cheering from the fan stands winning thus the first prize which consists of a summer outing on the beautiful mountains of the valley. Christof Innerhofer’s team barely missed its triple trophy having brought home the prize two years in a row in 2008 and 2009. This time, the supporters of the 26-year-old from nearby Gais had to be satisfied with a second place despite a strong showing.
