However, the intense and spectacular day already begins in the morning. First, the village band of Selva/Wolkenstein will hold a wake-up call and then it’s time for some fun while waiting for the race. The brand new World Cup Igloo with its music and drink is just what fans need. But that’s not all. Santa Cristina, for example, will turn into a World Cup Village where you will be able to find local culinary specialities and lots of entertainment. The main road is closed to traffic except for public transport which guarantees transport for fans. 

While waiting for the descent, you will also be able to admire the shows of the Ski Club Gardena and the Parachute Club Gardena as well as the spectacular flight exhibition of the German champion Klaus Lenhart. Of course we cannot forget the not-to-be-missed parade of the various fan clubs, a long procession that will start at 10.45 and will be very colourful. 

At 12.15, it is finally time for the long awaited downhill race on the Saslong. At 2 pm the award ceremony for the winner will be held, but not only that, the best fan club present in Val Gardena will also be rewarded.

8.30 am  Wake-up call with the village band of Selva/Wolkenstein

9.30 am – 3 am  WORLD CUP IGLOO: heated public tent with music, disco-dance and drinks at the Saslong Stadium – S. Cristina

9.30 am – 7 pm  WORLD CUP VILLAGE: traditional Tyrolean dishes in a unique Christmas atmosphere in the centre of S. Cristina

10.30 am  Music and Entertainment prior to the race: traditional whip lasher show, Ski Show of the Ski Club Gardena-Gröden and Air Show of the Parachute Club Gherdëina

10.45 am  Fan Parade – Saslong Stadium

11.30 am  Spectacular acrobatic flight performance with the German Champion Klaus Lenhart with the EXTRA 330 SC at the Saslong Stadium

12.15 pm  Men’s Downhill – Saslong Piste

2 pm  Men’s Downhill Award Ceremony
