The Program in Val Gardena/Gröden for Saturday

The Super-G and the fan parade are the athletic and entertainment highlights for the World Cup Saturday in Val Gardena/Gröden. The fan clubs are assembling at 10:45 am to make their way to the Finish to support the Downhill which starts at 12:15 pm.

Saturday is the traditional highlight of the World Cup week in Val Gardena/Gröden. No different this year, except that we’ll be watching the Super-G and not the Downhill. Reason is the lack of snow, which led the FIS and Organizers to preserve the course as much as possible. The change allowed to avoid unnecessary course work between the Downhill training runs and the Super-G and back again and allowed for the course to be in excellent conditions tomorrow for the Super-G just as it was for today’s Downhill.

The entertainment program has not been affected by this change. Saturday is fan day with the fan parade being the highlight of the fan festival. It is taking place before the Super-G. Start is 10:45 am at the Restaurant La Tambra. The colorful groups will lead banners, drums, bells and trumpets through downtown St.Christina. The group will march to the Finish and take place on its dedicated fan grand stands from which it can provide ample vocal support to its skiers. A jury will select the most expressive Fan clubs who is awarded a prize after the Super-G prize ceremony.

Several events including parties, celebrations and get-togethers are taking place for the fans in Val Gardena/Gröden.
