the Organizing Committee will check safety nets and anchors under the guidance of course director Horst Demetz preparing the course for the first snowfall.

In the summer, various improvement were carried out on the Saslong to adapt the classic World Cup course to the rapid developments of racing and the demands of the International Ski Federation FIS.

Thus, the course was widened at the Camel Humps and stabilized with retaining structures made of reinforced earth. Reinforcement tapes were inserted In the soil to absorb any tensile loads and ablate them through friction into the ground. The widening will allow for a more generous course setting in the Super G permitting several variations on the route.

Four-meter-high security nets (FIS A nets) were mounted on the left side of the Jägerhaus on a length of 200 meters in the direction of travel.

Additionally, several kilometers of fiber optic cable was laid underground along the route as part of the work which will mainly serve the television production and transmission of data.

"All work was carried out by the lift company Saslong AG," says Race Director Rainer Senoner "This means that the improvement works on the Saslong, which began 26 years ago, are almost complete".
