South Tyrolean Races Officially presented in Bolzano/Bozen
The Ski World Cup races in South Tyrol were introduced at a joint press conference in Bolzano/Bozen, Italy.
Four days, four races and a premiere: the AUDI FIS Ski World Cup will once again be in South Tyrol from December 18 to 21.
Two speed races are on the program for Friday and Saturday in Val Gardena/Gröden, and a giant slalom on Sunday and, for the first time ever, a giant parallel slalom on Monday night in Alta Badia.
By the end of this weekend, at the latest, there will be enough snow on the Saslong course. The Gran Risa is also covered with enough snow to carry out the two races.
It’s the 48th time that the world’s best speed specialists are making a stop in Val Gardena/Gröden to participate in the Saslong Classic. It starts on Friday, December 18, with a Super-G followed by a downhill on Saturday, December 19, which thanks to the Camel Humps, Ciaslat & Co. makes it one of the most attractive races in the World Cup. On Sunday, December 20, an anniversary is celebrated: it has been 30 years since the World Cup has raced in Alta Badia in the classic giant slalom on the Gran Risa. The celebration culminates on Monday, December 21, with a premiere: for the first time, a parallel giant slalom will be raced on the Gran Risa at night.
A rich entertainment program is offered to all spectators. The races are far more than just timed events on the slope and are attracting thousands of spectators and fan clubs from all over the world.
