Dominik Paris: Not difficult, but difficult to be fast

“The Saslong is a very special course with two key sections: the Camel Humps which require all the concentration and the Ciaslat meadows, which are also not easy when you want to be fast. The course isn’t difficult, but it is difficult to be fast on the Saslong. One can be fast one time and slow the next, and not really know why. Therefore, it’s...

very difficult to understand this track.”

The atmosphere in Val Gardena/Gröden is always very nice because there are a lot of local spectators from South Tryol, and, specifically from my valley. Although I’m very concentrated during the race, I also find the time to celebrate a little with them afterwards.

Dominik  Paris (born April 14, 1989) participated in his first World Cup race in 2008 on the Saslong. He won in Bormio and Kitzbühel in 2012/13 and captured silver in the World Championships in Schladming. The South-tyrol native has won four World Cup races, ten podium places, including a second in the Super-G and a third place in the Downhill in Val Gardena/Gröden (2014).
