The Saslong has always felt like home. The first year I arrived in Gardena and inspected the Saslong I realized I could win here. From the first day I felt comfortable and could see what I needed to do, where I needed to place my skis. Gardena gives me
confidence, sometimes too much! I have crashed here more than I have won but I still have a good communication with the hill, she loves me, but sometimes still shows me she is still the boss. ;)

When I arrive into the Gardena Valley I feel at home. It is incredibly welcoming and serene. The views in every direction are eye opening and inspiring. I haven't mentioned the food yet! The pasta, meats and cheeses are the perfect finish to a great day of racing down the Saslong!

I am excited to get back to Gröden and test my abilities once again!
Steven Nyman (USA), born on February 12, 1982 has won three times the Downhill on the Saslong in Val Gardena/Gröden (2006, 2012, 2014).
