Svindal wins Second Training Run

Aksel Lund Svindal from Norway wins his second training and, thus, underscores his dominance as favorite to capture the Downhill on the Saslong. The most aggressive competition comes from his own teammate and the USA.

Svindal clocked a time of 1.57:09 minutes in perfect conditions, edging out Kjetil Jansrud by 0.24 seconds. Steven Nyman is behind by only 2/100 of a second showing once again that the Saslong suits him all right although he had some challenges on the Ciaslat. Fellow American Travis Ganong (+0.28), South Tyrolean Peter Fill (+0.47) and Guillermo Fayed from France (+0.48) all showed that they are strong contenders for Saturday’s Downhill.
All in all, no major surprises on the Saslong today.
