We are Ready for the Classic Downhill
Tomorrow’s program for the Downhill on the Saslong was confirmed in today’s Team Captains‘ Meeting. FIS TD Gorazd Bedrac was satisfied with today’s event and based on the weather forecast expects tomorrow’s race to be at just as good.Â
FIS Race Director Hannes Trinkl pointed out that today’s many falls happened primarily to younger skiers and that coaches should try to reign them in so that they don’t try things that are too difficult. Among all the fallen racers, it was only Luca de Aliprandini who had to be transported to the hospital with a minor injury. Additionally, FIS Chief Race Director Markus Waldner specified that many skiers wrongly interpreted a certain section mainly due to lack of experience.Â
Finally, it was confirmed that all athletes who are competing tomorrow and also on Sunday in Alta Badia will be transported to Alta Badia by helicopter at conclusion of the Downhill.
In conclusion, Rainer Senoner thanked the entire crew and expressed his wish to have a little more snow in future years to avoid the no-snow thrill of these last two years.Â
