130 people singing in unison a familiar battle cry, all clad in matching helmets and green jackets imposing their well-versed songs and also victory over 19 other fan clubs lined up for today’s parade. The prize consists in a weekend outing in Val Gardena/Gröden. 

Satuday is the day of the Downhill and also of the fans here in Val Gardena/Gröden. A dedicated fan parade is marching through the town of St. Christina with music, entertainment and a lot of vocal support including bells, whistles and drums whose noise echoed throughout the valley. 

The most memorable and best organized, for the second year in a row, was the fan club of the Austrian skier Striedinger. They rehearsed yesterday for the Super-G and today they performed in the parade ending up with a ruckus on the dedicated fan club grand stands.  

The performances of the fan clubs of Matthias Mayer, of the Heilousn of Dominik Paris and Siegmar Klotz, and also of the Swiss skier Fernando Schmed who did very well considering that this was their first time participating are worthy of being mentioned. 

This parade was most likely the most beautiful ever staged for the World Cup in Val Gardena/Gröden.
