Linus Strasser wins 1st FIS Night Slalom in Val Gardena/Gröden

The German World Cup skier Linus Strasser won the first of two night slaloms of the Raiffeisen FIS Challenge in Val Gardena/Gröden. The 24-year-old captured gold on the Sochers course on Ciampinoi ahead of Simon Maurberger from South Tyrol and Joaquim Salarich from Spain.

The two runs were set by Heini Pfitscher (63 gates) and Karl Mussner (62 gates), respectively. About 130 athletes from 15 nations participated in the night slalom. Rainer Senoner was Race Director and Manfred Tiefenthaler Technical FIS Delegate. The races were hosted by Saslong Classic Club who is also the organizer of the World Cup races in Val Gradena/Gröden. 40 volunteers helped provide optimal racing conditions.
