FIS Chief Race Director Günther Huyara and safety executive Helmth Schmalzl together with the Saslong Classic Club Organizing Committee have inspected the Saslong race course. This inspection resulted in the definitive assignment of a second world cup event to Val Gardena - Gröden, subject to some minor additional measures in order to guarantee an improved safety level for the finish part of the course.
The Downhill and the Super-G will be disputed on December 14 and 15, 2001.
