FIS Race Director Helmuth Schmalzl has performed the so-called snow check on the Saslong this morning along with Val Gardena/Gröden Race Director Rainer Senoner and Course Director Horst Demetz.

Mr. Schmalzl pointed to a dire situation after the inspection of the race course, but is still hopeful thanks to the promising weather forecast. “We are expecting very low temperatures in the next few days. This gives us a chance to produce the necessary snow for the races.

The next update will be available on Friday, December 12th.” adds Mr. Schmalzl. Race Director Rainer Senoner has trust in the powerful snow machines of the lift company Saslong. “Saslong AG is able to prepare the course in the shortest amount of time thanks to the state-of-the art snow production capabilities and a highly motivated team. Once again, they will give their all to make the impossible possible.” says Mr. Senoner. In the meantime, all preparations are running at an all-time-high and according to plan. “We are confident to be able to host the races on December 19th and 20th.” says Stefania Demetz, CEO of World Cup Val Gardena/Gröden. A Super-G and a Downhill are on the program
