Turning point within the Saslong Classic Club
Stefania Demetz takes the place of her father Erich as President of the FIS World Cup-Organisation Committee Val Gardena.
Stefania Demetz is the new President of the Saslong-OC Val Gardena. Yesterday (10.06.2004) the general meeting of Saslong Classic Club voted by acclamation the 34 year-old manager from Selva as the new President of the Committee.

She replaces her father Erich Demetz, who has been leading the Ski World Cup in Val Gardena for 40 years. Erich Demetz has been elected honorary President as well as his deputy Edmund Dellago, who also left together with the councillor Max Schenk. Representing all Val Gardena’s mayors, Bruno Senoner expressed his gratitude to the three pioneers ok skisports in Val Gardena . “Together with Tschucky Kerschbaumer they managed to organize the FIS Alpine World Championship 1970 in Val Gardena, which lead to an incredible economic development of the valley. Furthermore they have organized FIS World Cup races every year since 1969, contributing to export the name Val Gardena all over the world” said Bruno Senoner, mayor of S.Cristina.
