Races on Saslong held as programmed
The two Ski World Cup events on the Saslong course in Val Gardena Gröden will be held as programmed. This has been confirmed during the today's snow check.
Race Director Rainer Senoner: There is sufficient snow on the slope in order to guarantee regular races. The works for the slope profile are almost finished and all safety measures have been implemented.
Snow check has to be done ten days prior to the race as per FIS rules. The inspection was done by Race Director Rainer Senoner, Chief of Course Horst Demetz and the President of the Organizing Committee Stefania Demetz.
For the first time in the almost 40 years' history of the Val Gardena - Gröden race cup events, the FIS has authorized the local Organizing Committee to do the check which can be considered as a sign of placing full confidence to the organizers.
As in the past years, again two events will be held, the Super G on Friday Dec. 17 and the Downhill on Saturday Dec. 18.
