Course Director Mr. Horst Demetz along with lift company Saslong have begun with snow making on November 1st. Over 60 snow machines are ready to be employed. Organizers hope for a drop in temperatures in order to continue preparation for the Ski World Cup races on December 15th and 16th, 2006. According to the weather forecasts (Arabba and meteorological regional unit in Bozen), temperatures are expected to decline starting Saturday. Cooler temperatures should enable the creation of adequate amounts of snow in a short period of time. A snow check by FIS appointee Mr. Sepp Messner scheduled for Tuesday, December 5th will determine whether the races can take place.
