This year’s technical delegate: Paul Berlinger

The Swiss Paul Berlinger is responsible for the races on the Saslong as this year’s technical delegate.
He is 64 years old and comes from Switzerland. His name is Paul Berlinger and he is this year’s TD (technical delegate) responsible for the races on the Saslong. Berlinger is married and has two grown-up children and has been part of the ski circus for the past 30 years. 1975 he began working for FIS, later he worked as director of the Swiss ski association.
“The Saslong is in perfect condition. This year’s organizers have done an excellent job. That it was even possible to hold the races here in Val Gardena is also thanks to Helmuth Schmalzl.” says Berlinger about the race piste. Regarding the outcome of the race, Berlinger doesn’t comment: “Not even I know that.” he says smiling. “Lots will depend on the athlete’s form on the day – and beware – in Val Gardena there have always been surprise winners.”
