Icier than the Saslong

Over the years it has become a tradition that the Americans and Canadians compete against each other in a friendly ice-hockey match. Yesterday, Tuesday 12th December, the hockey friends from the ski circus once again clashed sticks.
A mixed group of trainers and officials from the US-Team, from FIS and the Canadians took to the ice yesterday in Selva/Val Gardena. Barbara Demetz organized the ice evening which has become a tradition, in the stadium of Selva and it turned out to be great fun for everyone, as FIS employee Mike Kertesz recounts after the ice hockey match. Downhill racers of both North American teams didn’t dare take to the ice this year. Kertesz believes they want to save their energies for the ride over the not-so-icy Saslong.
