After achieving the best time in both practice runs Didier Cuche is the hot favourite for Saturday’s downhill race. In his long career Cuche has won 5 World Cup races and has been on the podium altogether 24 times in 224 World Cup races. In Val Gardena, however, the Swiss skier never managed to get on the podium. His best result was 6th place in the Super-G of 2004 and 8th place in the Downhill of 2001. After his convincing runs in the training sessions it looks as though this year Cuche will easily achieve his best result.
