World Cup Races Are Confirmed

The two World Cup races at Val Gardena on 16th and 17th December are confirmed. Sepp Messner from South Tyrol, delegated by the FIS, the International Ski Federation, carried out the so-called snow control on the Saslong slope.
This inspection is provided for by the FIS rules and must be carried out ten days before the races. It is the last fitness check before the competition. During his inspection Messner stated that the snow conditions are perfect (about 60 cm). The base is of artificial snow, topped by fresh snow. “A considerable temperature decrease is forecast for the next days”, Messner explained, “and with such conditions the slope will be perfect”. The president of the Organising Committee, Stefania Demetz, did not conceal her satisfaction. “We expect a very exciting race week”. The Super G on the Saslong is scheduled on Friday, 16th December, and the classic Downhill Saturday 17th December.
