Venice-born Mr. Sambo has been the official representative of the Poste Italiane, the Italian post office, at the Press Office here in Gröden/Val Gardena. “The technology has undergone significant progress over the past few years and, therefore, our work profile has changed as well� says Mr. Sambo. “Back in the early years, pictures had to be distributed by telephoto machine.� They cost over Lire 15 million. Nowadays, the technology speeds up everything.
What is better, the “good old days� or modern progress? “We can offer much improved service which is more rewarding. However, working with the vintage machines was fascinating in its own right.“
