40th Anniversary World Cup Gardena-Gröden

The World Cup in Gardena-Gröden is celebrating its 40th anniversary. A total of 62 international women’s and men’s races have taken place in this valley in the Dolomites over the last four decades.
The competitions were followed on TV by millions of people globally and have made a significant contribution to the economic development of winter tourism in South Tyrol. The organizers want to have an appropriate celebration of this anniversary. In addition to introducing the new brand symbol at the end of the summer, the audience, athletes and teams from all over the world will be part of a top-quality cultural entertainment program during the racing week.
The cultural program was named “Passion and Performance” and The objective is to present Gardena-Gröden’s skiing tradition, its cultural idiosyncrasies and the organizer’s commitment to an international audience through an evening that merges traditions with innovation through particular artistic resources.
The celebration will take place on Friday, December 14th at 5:45 pm in the newly renovated Nives town square in Selva-Wolkenstein. Two young and dedicated artists have been asked to take the lead in arranging the celebration: the architect Nadia Moroder (stage design) and the well-known musician Georg Malfertheiner. “40th Anniversary of Ski World Cup in Val Gardena-Gröden” will feature the percussion group “conTact”, three vocalists and 38 students of the middle school Ortisei-St.Ulrich under the direction of teacher Mrs. Donatella Valletta.
