World Cup races since 1969
There have been 62 World Cup races in Gardena-Gröden since 1969 (including the 1970 WC). These include 54 men’s and six women’s races.
Fifty-one speed races took place on Saslong, of which 45 were Downhill and 6 Super-G races. Nine different nations have won in the Downhill discipline, including several multiple winners such as Kristian Ghedina, Franz Klammer, Antoine Deneriaz, Peter Müller, Rob Boyd and Helmuth Höflehner. 2004 was marked by the first German victory by Max Rauffer. In 2005, Marco Büchel from Lichtenstein won his first downhill race on a shortened course and in 2006 Steven Nymann from the USA celebrated the first American victory.
