Cuche, a portrait
Winner of the Super-G Didier Cuche confirmed his brilliant start of the season in Gardena-Gröden. This is his third time on the podium after Lake Louise and Beaver Creek.
The Swiss skier was born in Bugnenets on August 16, 1974 and is member of the Chasseral Dombresson Sci Club. Cuche is a learned butcher, speaks perfect French, German and English and loves to spend his free time listening to music, going to the cinema, playing golf and riding motorcycles. He started skiing at the tender age of three and entered competitive sports in 1993 with the Downhill race in Bormio. Cuche scored his first World Cup points in Val Gardena in 1995 placing 21st in the Downhill and won his first podium in Kitzbühel’s Downhill in 1998. His temperament has helped him overcome several injuries tearing the ligaments of both knees.
