Nyman, the “Stormin’ Mormon” from Utah
Last year US American Steven Nyman celebrated his first World cup victory right here in Gardena-Gröden. That catapulted him to the stars within the Ski World Cup circuit. Will there be a repeat?
He proofed that he rightly belonged among the top skiers on the circuit with his second podium in Beaver Creek, despite skiing in less than optimal weather conditions. One of his hidden secret is his South-Tyrol-native ski man Leo Mussi who has been a faithful supporter of his for years. Steven Nyman’s victory was followed by a very close Didier Cuche (who placed first at yesterday’s Super-G) and Fritz Strobl, the only highlight among an otherwise disappointing performance by the Austrian team.
