The Course is Ready
The FIS snow inspection on the Saslong World Cup has been made today by the South Tyrolean FIS Safety Official Sepp Messner, together with Chief of Race Rainer Senoner and Chief of Course Horst Demetz.
The visit regarded a survey of the consistency of the snow as well as verification that all safety precautions are in place along the entire course. The course is in excellent conditions and has been opened to the general skiing public this weekend. The layer of man made snow if about 16 inches on the entire slope plus 30 inches of new natural snow in the lower part of the course and about 40 inches in the upper part. .On December 15, the Saslong will be closed in preparation for the upcoming races. The snow inspection is supposed to take place approximately 10 days prior to the athletes’ arrivals.
