www.saslong.org has conducted a brief interview with World Cup factotum Robert Brunner.

Saslong.org: Mr. Brunner, do you consider Gardena-Gröden your home races?
Robert Brunner: Yes, certainly are these my home races. It is always such a delight to return to South Tyrol. The countryside is beautiful, the slopes are in perfect conditions and there are so many novelties on the Saslong. I sincerely hope that we will enjoy a good race with good results.

Who will place at the top among the Austrians?
Kröll, Walchhofer and Hermann Maier are in top form. But we should keep an eye out for Peter Fill. Also Staudi (i.e., Patrick Staudacher) could place well. So make sure to watch him. Heel and Innerhofer are also strong contenders.

Do you admit that you also cheer for the South Tyrolean skiers?
Yes, of course. I have worked for the Italian ski federation for many years and know them all very well. But I send my best to every athlete skiing on the Saslong and will be delighted on behalf of the winner.
