Walchhofer: „A true act of force”
“I did a good run pushing very hard which is why I was anxious to see my time once I reached the Finish” says Michael Walchhofer, winner of the 41st World Cup downhill on the Saslong.
“I was taught a lesson at yesterday’s Super-G (editor’s note: 40th rank) and was a little down after the race which is why I am so exuberant today. Winning on the back of yesterday’s disappointment is what makes this victory so sweet.” says Walchhofer. “This is by far one of my most memorable victories. I skied for Austria today more than ever before”.
“Being able to let my skis run is what distinguishes me as a Downhill racer. But I am sure that my ever-critical father is already waiting with his comments.” adds Walchhofer.
