Saslong in excellent Conditions
The Saslong course has benefited from the most recent snow falls on Tuesday and is now in excellent conditions. 70cm of snow were recorded at the Start at 2249m, ...
...50cm at the middle section Sochers (2000m), 35cm at Ciaslat and 25cm at the Finish. Snow machines have been put to work thanks to the significant nightly temperature drops (– 8°C at the Start and – 6°C at the Finish). Friday’s weather forecast is predicting further precipitations. The snow cover on Ciaslat has been largely unaffected by the rise in temperatures during the last few weeks. Man-made snow production has started in early November following the first cold snap. This was in addition to approximately 40cm of new snow.
The official snow check as defined by the International Ski Federation FIS usually takes place ten days before the race. Rainer Senoner confirmed that the works have proceeded well. “The races should be good to go as long as temperatures stay cold and more snow falls on Friday.â€
