22 teams at the Saslong Classic Gardena-Gröden

The number of participating teams – 22 – has set a record for the 42nd Saslong Classic Gardena-Gröden race. This might be related to the upcoming Olympic Games in Vancouver in February 2010.
Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Bulgaria and Chile are registered in addition to the traditional Alpine nations, Scandinavia and overseas. While the Polish athletes are undecided on the discipline, the single Slovakian athlete will compete in both speed disciplines as will Spain’s seven athletes. Bulgaria is arriving with two athletes, Chile with one. The participating nations at the World Cup Gardena-Gröden on December 18th and 19th, 2009 are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Lichtenstein, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Slovakia, Sweden and USA.
