Key Sections Saslong
Ciampinoi (2,249m): Local mountain of Selva-Wolkenstein is reachable by the Ciampinoi cable car from Selva-Wolkenstein and Saslong cable car and Sochers chair lift from Ruacia.
Spinel (2,091m): Drop-off right after start of the course. This site has the highest gradient of the entire course (56.9%).
Saut dl Moro (2,018m): Site of the Moro jump, the first big jump on Saslong. This jump is named after the Moro meadow.
Sochers Walls (1,900m): Steep area with 55.9% gradient named after the Sochers meadows.
Camel Humps (1,813m): Originally known as the “Costa de Gialina“ (Gialina Ridge), these humps were renamed Camel Humps by FIS Technical Delegate Sepp Sulzberger. This is the most storied section of Saslong, producing jumps up to 88m in length and with heights of 4-6m. The humps were first overleapt by Uli Spiess in 1980.
Ciaslat (1,720m): Named after the Ciaslat meadow, featuring a twisting section with up to 17 smaller and larger corrugated bumps. Nucia Turn and Finish Schuss (1,550m): This section is named after Nucia farm with up to 51.6% steep turn veering heavily towards the left.
Tunnel Jump: Final jump named after the Saslong Tunnel which runs below the jump. The tunnel is 375m long and part of the newly-built (2009) by-pass to St.Christina.
Ruacia (1,410m): The finish area is named after local farm.
