TD Huber surprised by winter in Gardena
TD Huber hadn’t expected this much snow in Val Gardena.“These are conditions you wish for, but rarely get”, said Michael Huber, the technical delegate of ths year’s World Cup race in Val Gardena.
Michael Huber has been a technical delegate for FIS for years, but has never yet worked in Val Gardena. “Seven years ago I was supposed to be the technical delegate here, but then the race was cancelled”, said Huber. Nonetheless Val Gardena isn’t unknown to Michael Huber; the Kitzbuehler has known the Gardena Organizers for years. As president of the Kitzbuehl Skiclub (since summer 2009), as chairman of the Organizing Committee of the World Cup race in Kitzbuehl (since 2001) and prior to that as longstanding general secretary (since 1991) he has worked many years alongside the Gardena World Cup Organizers in Club 5.
Huber has been a technical delegate for 15 years. The highlight of his career as “TD” were the Olympic Games in Torino in 2006, where he was the technical delegate of the Women’s Race in Sestrieres.
