Hujara: Constructive talk with athletes
FIS Race Director Guenter Hujara reported on the get-together between the FIS and 5 athletes at Wednesday evening’s Team Captains’ Meeting. The get-together was about heightened security for the racers. Hujara said it was a „very constructive discussion“.
The meeting with Walchhofer, Buechel and Co. was very productive, Hujara said. They discussed how security for the athletes could be improved in the future. The main points were the race course itself, critical points in the race course and the equipment. One of the requests made by athletes which can be immediately implemented regards functionaries, trainers and media representatives during piste inspections. From now on the above mentioned groups may no longer be in the race trajectory during the inspection, thereby blocking the athletes’view of the ideal line.
