Friday’s programme for the Gardena/Groeden World Cup Week
On Friday, at 12.15, the first highlight of the Gardena / Groeden World Cup Race Week gets under way: The Men’s Super-G. This year the races are accompanied by an exciting fringe programme, bigger than ever. The new marquee situated right next to the finish area will open for the first time tomorrow morning (Friday). At 10am celebrations will kick off with a typical Bavarian „Weisswurst“ party.
The Men’s Super-G begins at 12.15 local time, but the fringe programmes kick off much earlier. From 8am onwards World Cup Strudel (a typical South Tyrolean apple pie) is served in Cafe Andy, at 10am the „Weisswurst“ party commences in the new marquee and from 11am on „Lunch & Cocktails“ is served in the Pedes Lounge Bar in the finish area. Before the start of the race the„Goasslschnoeller“ will demonstrate their skills with the whip. After the race, at 3pm, the entertainment continues with the Fanclub party in the new marquee and from 5pm on there is a Champagne party for all the teams at the Luislkeller in Selva / Wolkenstein.
At 5.45pm a big Christmas concert will take place in Ortisei / St. Ulrich with the „Sonoton“ orchestra, followed by the prize-giving ceremony for the Super-G winners and the bib presentation for next day’s Downhill race.
