The two-times winner of the Fan Club competition, the Christof Innerhofer Fan Club, has claimed its 1st prize on September 4th which consisted of an enjoyable hike through the Dolomite mountains of Gardena/Gröden.
The Christof Innerhofer Fan Club met at the Sella Pass and started the day with a cable car ride to reach the Toni Demetz hut (www.tonidemetz.it) which is located at 2685m altitude nudged between two mountains: the 3181m Sassolungo/Langkofel and the 2996m Fuenffingerspitze. Hut host Heini Demetz served the 35 guests from Gais in Val Pusteria/Pustertal a cocktail while enjoying the breathtaking view from this vantage point.
The group was then taken by Genni Tschurtschenthaler who is the World Cup OC member responsible for Fan Clubs along with World Cup board member Günter Comploj from the Sella Pass to the Comici Mountain Restaurant (www.pizsella.com/index-rc.html). The path lead through an interesting section on the mountain called “Stony City”.
Lunch was served at Comici and followed by entertainment provided by Fan Club committee member Ossi Mairhofer, two harmonica players and a spontaneous joining by Günter Comploj on his guitar.
“We have played music, sang along, played cards, eat and drank” explains Fan Club President Günther Niederkofler. “Everybody was thrilled. We now hope that our protégé Christof will be well prepared for the upcoming season after his practice camp in South America.”
The hike was financially backed by the Tourism Consortium of Gardena/Gröden.
