Club5-Workshop in Annecy

In a workshop in Annecy the Club5 members, the 14 classic World Cup Organizers,  discussed important issues facing the Alpine Ski World Cup.

„The aim of the Club5 is a strong alpine race-sport of the highest quality, that can be achieved“, said Club5-President Srecko Medven.
Trough an interesting program the Club5 members covered current and future issues for the ski sport. With  high level FIS representation including Secretary General Sarah Lewis, Race Directors Günther Hujara and Attle Skardaal, many issues facing the Ski World Cup today were covered. Also attending from the FIS were finish area coordinator Mike Kertesz, marketing manager Marcel Looze and communications manager Riika Rakic.  The workshop also included a visit to the Salomon facility for mountain equipment research and development with several interesting presentations relative to sports marketing and ski racing in particular. The Cliub5-meeting was also interested to hear of the bid presentation for the Olympic Winter Games Annecy 2018 “
Co-host this year were Club de Sport Val d‘Isère (France) and Lake Louise Winterstart race organizing committee (Canada)
The workshop took place for the sixt time after previous meetings in Kitzbühel, Kranjska Gora, Venice, Wengen and last year again in Kitzbühel.

Club 5 was foundet in 1986. Today the members of this prestigious group of World Cup Organizers are  Kitzbühel, Wengen, Garmisch, Val d’Isère, Val Gardena Gröden, Alta Badia, Cortina, Kranjska Gora, Maribor, Lake Louise, Schladming, Adelboden  Kvitfjell and also this year St.Moritz who are joining Club5 for their first meeting.
