Marzola Prize goes to young Skier from Andorra
Marc Oliveras will be turning 19 the day after tomorrow, but his birthday gift cam early at conclusion of today’s Downhill race in Gardena-Gröden. He won the Gianni Marzola Prize 2010 of 1,500 Euro.
Gianni Marzola has always been a great supporter of the ski sport in Gardena-Gröden. This prize is in his memory and has been awarded since 2002. The prize always goes to the youngest athlete starting in any of the two World Cup races on the Saslong. This year is was 18-year-old Marc Oliveras from Andorra, a small skiing country nestled in the Pyrenees. Marc Oliveras raced in the Super-G and placed 54th. Igor Marzola, son of Gianni Marzola, handed the prize to the young winner at conclusion of today’s Downhill award ceremony.
