Sport and Fun in Val Gardena
When the ski world cup comes to Val Gardena, it isn’t merely a spectacular sporting event but the
social programme is also firstclass. This year the World Cup Village and the World Cup Igloo are celebrating their first appearance.
On Friday and Saturday, when the fastest skiers in the world will race through the Ciaslat meadow and fly over the Camel Humps, Val Gardena will be the hub of the skiing world again. But not only the Super G and the Downhill are worldclasss, the entertainment programme is also impressive: For the first time ever, S. Cristina will turn into a World Cup Village. Seven different stalls will be set up on the main road between the Hotel Cristallo and the Hotel Dosses. You will be able to taste local “Strauben”, barley soup, suckling pig or Bavarian sausages in a Christmassy atmosphere. In addition to this, children and adults of all ages can let off steam on the trampoline that was originally used for the training of skiing acrobatics. What’s more, the World Cup Igloo in the finish area, where you will be able to toast to the winners until late at night, is also celebrating a first this year.
The full programme is clearly summarized in the “Spectator Guide” and can be found HERE.
