St. Antonius square in Ortisei/St. Ulrich

Today, Friday, work will begin in earnest on the famed Saslong: At 12.15 the first racer will open the World Cup Super G. However, for spectators the race day will already begin at 10a.m. when the new World Cup Igloo placed at the finish, will open its doors for the first time.

But not only the Igloo in the finish area is new this year: the whole of St. Christina is presenting a new picture during the two official race days. Friday and Saturday the Val Gardena village will be transformed into a World Cup village. The main road through St. Christina will be closed for traffic from Friday 1p.m. and through the whole of Saturday and will present itself as a “culinary pleasure mile” with various events and entertainments along the way.

The main event on Friday is of course the actual Super G race, beginning at 12.15. Alongside the Super G and the various activities in the World Cup Village, there is also an extensive evening programme in Ortisei/St. Ulrich which fans should not forget to check out! Beginning at 6 p.m. in the main St. Antonius square in Ortisei/St. Ulrich, the award ceremony of the Super G and the bib presentation for the Downhill race will take place.


Friday’s programme:

From 10 am onwards:
WORLD CUP IGLOO: Heated tent with disco music, party and cocktails in the finish area of the Saslong

From 11 am onwards:
Music and entertainment before the start of the Super G in the Saslong Stadium

Starting at 12.15:
SUPER G

From 1 pm onwards:
WORLD CUP VILLAGE: Traditional Tyrolean specialities in a unique Christmas atmosphere in the centre of St. Christina.

From 6 pm onwards:
Super G award ceremony with the best pictures of the race day, followed by the bib draw for the Downhill race in the St. Antonius square in Ortisei/St. Ulrich.
