The winner of the Gardena/Gröden Downhill race 2010, Silvan Zurbriggen (SUI) will open the World Cup Super G race on the Saslong today, Friday, at 12.15. Sandro Viletta (SUI) and Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR), the winners of this year’s previous two Super G races, start with bib number 9 and 20.
The right starting number could be decisive in tomorrow’s race due to unstable weather conditions. Depending on whether there has been a lot of snowfall at the start of the race or whether fog arises during the course of the race, an earlier or a later starting number could prove to be of advantage.
The Italian skiers have all drawn higher bib numbers: First of the “Azzurri” is Christof Innerhofer starting as skier number 16, Matteo Marsaglia has bib number 24 and Peter Fill and Werner Heel respectively have drawn bib numbers 27 and 28.
