Go Ahead for World Cup Gardena/Gröden
The International Ski Federation has given Gardena/Gröden the go ahead for both World Cup races on December 14th and 15th.
FIS Race Director Helmut Schmalz, who just returned from Beaver Creek (USA) where three races have taken place over the last weekend, has undertaken the race course inspection along with Course Director Horst Demetz.
„There is enough snow on the Saslong to host the ski World Cup races‰ says Course Director Mr. Demetz, adding: „Only two or three more cold nights are necessary to finalize the race profile and prepare the jumps‰.
Meteorologists forecast freezing temperature which should allow for the necessary snow production.
The World Cup Super-G is taking place on Friday, December 14th and the Downhill on December 15th. Training runs are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. All events start at 12:15 pm.
