Saslong Lift Company Makes First Artificial Snow

The Lift Company Saslong AG has started with the snow production on the Saslong course. The first section from the Sochers Wall through the Finish has been covered with an initial layer of snow at current temperatures of -4 to -6 degrees C.

Snow making on the upper parts of the course has been made impossible due to strong winds. Approximately 30 high-quality snow-making machines have been operating since this cold snap set in. Weather forecast predicts snow for Sunday. "This would be perfect" says Course Director Horst Demetz "as it would significantly facilitate preparatory works on the course." Natural snow and accumulated snow has to be evenly distributed to allow for optimal conditions during the development of the racing profile on the track. The FIS snow check is scheduled for December 7th.
