The entire Ski World Elite in South Tyrol

The upcoming three Ski World Cup races in South Tyrol were introduced at a press conference in Bolzano/Bozen. Gardena/Gröden and Alta Badia will be hosting a total of three races this winter: Super-G and Downhill on the Saslong, Giant Slalom on the Gran Risa.

The 46th Saslong Classic is taking place on December 20th and 21st, the 28th ski competition in Alta Badia on December 22nd. Approximately 80 racers from 25 nations will participate. The prize money for all three races is set at € 266,500.
Approximately 1800 individuals will be in action during the racing week. The three World Cup races will be broadcast by 50 TV channels globally. About 300 media representatives will be reporting on the sport evens in the two Ladin-speaking valleys.

300 million TV spectators have watched the Races in Gardena/Gröden and Alta Badia in 2012.
The broadcasts of the World Cup races in Gardena/Gröden and Alta Badia have reached record numbers last year. TV agency Infront Sports & Media has analyzed broadcasting times and audience numbers for the events in Gardena/Gröden and Alta Badia. Based on their research, the Super-G, Downhill and Giant Slalom races have been broadcast a combined 290 hours and watched by a total of 300 million TV spectators. The TV channel Eurosport alone has broadcast in 59 countries and 20 languages.

Great Entertainment Program
A great entertainment program will be offered during the World Cup week in Gardena/Gröden and Alta Badia. Highlights include the Super-G award ceremony and Downhill bib lottery which are both taking place on Friday evening on the Antonius Square in Ortisei/St.Ulrich, as well as the bib lottery for the Giant Slalom on Saturday, December 21st at the Park in La Ila/Stern. The entertainment program in Alta Badia will already start at 5:30 pm with music by DJ Star Marco Ossanna. The music will continue at 6:00 pm with songs from the 60ies, 70ies and 80ies, still under the direction of DJ Ossanna. The public will have the opportunity to approach their favorite athletes for autographs and pictures following the bib lotteries in Gardena/Gröden and Alta Badia. Forty Swiss musicians will provide authentic Swiss “Gugga music” in Alta Badia and the public will be served hot drinks, panettone and Christmas cookies. World Cup Adventures, the entertainment program in Gardena/Gröden, is offering several special events in restaurants and bars throughout the valley.

In addition to high quality sports, Gardena/Gröden and Alta Badia will also be offering top-end gastronomy.
